*12:10pm EST* Atlanta vs NY Mets *****Atlanta @-160***** Ortiz vs Glavine. I don't like going against Glavine at home but Atlanta is going to Chicago Cubs next and i think that they will be looking to keep up the momentum and they are playing well. Good Luck!!!!!

giorgos, I'm sure that there is a closet FORUM stat computer sports enthusiast that has my detailed record on hand for everyone to look at. I don't keep one. All i know is that i'm on the losing end. Looking for 3-0 on the early games. Good Luck!!!!!

al, blue is right, you cant lay this kind of chalk-- day in and day out, unless you dont like money or these are pretend games..

Come on Fellas, i just think that these are good bets today. Which games do you disagree on??? And how would you bet on them so that at the end of the day, you'd be showing some profit. al watts

We disagree on most because you can not lay that much chalk. Maybe one chalk but not 3 games.

Al...check your YTD record and units gained/lost.

al, 80% of the time if there is any line over -1.50, its marked right off my page from the get go, however there are times that ill lay alot of chalk,, about 2-3 times per week,, one more is when Buerhle pitches next, ill let you know that right now...... Now on to your questions, i did bet atlanta today, it was a mismatch, however your cubs play is anything but a mismatch,, you cant lay that chalk on them,, its a no-play al.... you cant bet on Lilly and lay that chalk either, your just asking for it, you may be alright with the astros as the reds have sucked tremendously... so what id do if i were you,,, id have play atl and hou, while dropping the other 2..... if your heart is set to bet those 4 teams... just talking al, i wish you nothing but the best..

al, lay the chalk if you want to but you MUST find better prices than you are getting. You are losing money just on your number shopping. Here is an example:

You have Cubs -185

Compare to Pinnacle -172

Whether the Cubs win or lose you would either win more or lose less by playing at Pinnacle.

If the Cubs win, your $185 on the Cubs at Pinnacle makes about $108. However, with your out you only make $100. If the Cubs lose, you would have saved $13 at Pinnacle on the same $100 bet. Good Luck al, I would really like to see you playing at a better out my friend.

Lastly, don't let guys run you off the site. The best of cappers take heat from bashers (dogball, Kodiak, panther, Rodfather, etc..) A lot of guys follow your picks and root for you and it always scares me a bit when I see someone bash you and you take a day or two off. You need to play every day in this game..keep coming back. Will you be playing NFL as well? Good Luck

MadCapper and SSI, Thanks. I'll stick with what i have this afternoon and Houston tonight and i'll work on the less chalk and the -1.50 principle next time around.

I've found that laying 1 1/2 runs
is a nice alternative to the heavy vig.

There are some one run games, but
my strategy of laying the - 1 1/2
if the # is beyond -160 has been
solid.

souzathelooza, I felt that way today with Atlanta, Oakland and Houston. I'll give the Cubs a 1 run win.

Mr Watts,
I also wish you the best at what ever you play. I think earlier in the season the folks downstairs in the rubber room were putting you on the fade list or something and I thought you took that pretty well. Also. I don't remember you flaming or bashing, just putting up picks. There's some great cappers and info on this board and if you keep plugging away and not get discouraged when it goes wrong, you will win.
Good luck for the rest of time.

al, what is your reasoning with oakland, they dont have a good pitcher going, they are not hot,, they are at home. they do have a better record.. also what about cubs, they are the home team, not necessarily the better team or the hotter team.. did you just like them,, i totally understand the braves, that was solid and has several good reasons to back it up.. houston is a stretch, main reason is that cincy has stunk really bad lately, more of a play against cincy than a play for houston..

al, my intent is not to bash...simply to point out that laying that much chalk usually is a recipe for disaster. i tend to agree with ssi that you need to be careful when laying over 150...make sure its on a team that's rolling with a solid bullpen (not seattle or the white sox...EVER).

good luck.

SSI, I thought Oakland had the better pitcher, better bullpen and less innings used (bullpen) had a winning record, excellent at home record vs Tampa Bay on the road. The Cubs, matched up very well with Florida and i liked that Mark Prior was pitching, so i gave the Cubs at least a win by 1 run. Houston, i think is heating up and it's a play for Houston and against Cincinnati. I was pursuaded after listening to the game last night on thr radio, and all of the comments and info provided during the game and on the post game Cincinnati Reds baseball show. So, i will give Houston at least a 1 run win.
